Responsible for assisting the Survey Party Chief in managing the activities of survey throughout various job locations.
1.Complete tasks utilizing survey instruments and equipment per the direction of the Survey Party Chief 2.Maintain and properly care for survey instruments and equipment
3.Dig, spread, and level dirt, sand, and gravel using a hand tools
4.Lift, carry, and manually transport construction materials, tools, and supplies
5.Clean tools, equipment, materials, and the work area
6.Mix and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials using hand tools
7.Join, wrap, and seal sections of pipe
8.Perform a variety of routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trench, and assembling sections of pipe 9.Perform a variety of machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering, and assisting in the fusing of pipe
10.Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
11.Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
12.Other unlisted duties will be assigned
1.At least one years’ experience as a Survey Helper in heavy highway and bridge projects 2.Previous experience with survey instruments
3.High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required
4.Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
5.Move throughout a construction jobsite which includes minor obstacles including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds
6.Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
7.Ability to physically maneuver by foot minor obstacles at construction projects
8.Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials. 9.Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind
